Introduction
Production & Setting
The second scene is an improvement in colour balancing and lighting, although there is still some excess noise in some shots due to sun and window position. In this shot we have a variety of colour elements. On one side we have a large set of windows with natural balanced lighting and colours in the form of the beige brown window frames, the brown table offset by a couple white pillows for Wakana to sit on, and the green plants outside. Wakana herself is wearing a more visually dynamic attire, with blue jean shorts, an orange bikini with a cute bottom, and her hair up in a ponytail to provide some controlled placement. This room (which 100% is from the famed white house REbecca and many other studios have used in recent years) is showing its age, it seems like they just pulled an old winery patio and slapped it into a building in Japan.
This shoot uses a gym balance ball as Wakana’s main prop, which is a standard trope as most debuts use some from of exercise tool like skipping ropes and the like. The ball does help to amplify Wakana’s butt however, which considering her general figure overall, is something that needs some outside influence to bring out the finer details. Wakana’s overall figure is fine, nothing special, but nothing negative either, cup size is small from what the big boob brigade may want but it’s pretty on par with what most women have and still works hand squeeze wise. The scene moves from Wakana starting on a weathered table, balancing on a ball as she strips, and then using the ball as a prop while laying on the table. Unfortunately, the music is again mixed in quality, the first and last track are solid, but the scene is so short shoving in a third song in the middle with questionable vocal bits is annoying. In contrast to the first scene, Wakana is definitely more into it, being more expressive, knowing where to look, and generally flowing better with the set.
Moving along, the third scene almost is like they just aimed the camera at the other side of the room decor wise. We are presented with a couple props, a small desk/chair combo and a bed in the second half. Wakana is in the standard schoolgirl sailor outfit. It wouldn’t be a debut IV if this wasn’t present in some way. Not much to say on this front, the attire looks good but it’s not really my style, at least not in this type of content. The room is well lit as the white walls, white drapes, and white bed sheets along with whiter present on Wakana’s clothes bring the brightness way up, but not enough that there is excess noise. There are some nice contrasts and complimentary colours to reduce the blow out such as with the brown flooring, some yellow/lilac-coloured flowers, and Wakana’s clothing having the usual darker palette combination found on such outfits. The scene isn’t anything special and most of it is clothed or only bottomless (which again, due to Wakana being shaved, they don’t do any shots that show more of that region, not even a vagina-hand cup w/butthole, which admittedly is a rarity among REbecca productions for years now).
The following scene is a pass. It starts off well enough on the visual front, softer colours present in the room, a single source of external light with Wakana centered in a nice pink dress and some white panties. After a few seconds of posing in front of the window the scene moves to the bed and Wakana strips down, and then the toy play part starts, but not the good kind with vibrators, nah, lame tickling brushes. Pass.
Now the last two scenes are where the production steps up, especially the last one, however, both have one glaring issue that reduces the impact. First, the penultimate scene is the classic bathtub/shower scene. The bathroom isn’t anything special, however, the lighting is well done as there is a single frosted window offside to create a gradient across both the room and Wakana, which does a lot to amplify details. Lighting gradients across Wakana help bring out her chest by creating shadow pits which help to give her a bit more of a bust and the lighting from the tiles being brighter than her darkened figure help create a break in colour tone and give her more shape. The added water droplets across her chest and streams running down her body in the beginning shots does well enough to bring more attention to areas such as her chest and butt. The scene shifts to the bathtub soap suds part which is often great to see as soapy breasts are a top tier look and sometimes, you’ll get shots from below because soap covers the prohibited areas. While the soapy shots are great, the biggest failing of this segment is framing. We rarely if ever get a proper rule of thirds full frame shot of Wakana covered in suds. It is always cutting off some part of her head regardless of angle. An unfortunate outcome that is replicated in the final scene.
The last scene is a darker set using dim lighting, a dark brown leather seat, Wakana in a lighter blue bikini to create a palette break between her yellowish skin tone amidst the darker browns and greens in the background. The scene has solid back shots, and honestly that seems to be Wakana’s preferred pose given the previous shoots. The scene progresses with Wakana striping and lathering herself in oil, adding a nice sheen to her body just as the water from the prior did. The shadows also are back but in a less pronounced way due to the positioning of the light source, but they do add some additional detail to her backside and create a more vibrant colouration of her butt and chest once the oil is applied.
Overall, the set pieces weren’t anything special, especially in terms of a debut film from REbecca. There are some good shots and Wakana visually got more into it after the first shoot, so she at least is a fast learner to a point. Unfortunately, technical issues on the part of some camera framing, music edits, and less creativity in the shots themselves even in contrast to other debuts from the studio and I must give it a bit of an average score. I do hope to see Wakana continue with this type of content however, along with her more explicit AV works.
Score: 7/10 (Production), 7/10 (Setting)
Music
The music is a mixed bag in this one, from some solid selections that are paced well with what Wakana is doing, to questionable or outright poor mid scene transitions to lesser quality tracks. For example, in the first scene we have a louder guitar heavy track that plays at a faster tempo, basically a typical high energy intro song. However, it rapidly switches to a softer guitar/piano track that is more intimate, which is fine, it’s just the transition was jarring, and Wakana hadn’t even started getting naked by that point. Then after Wakana is nearly naked the track switches again to a faster tempo electronic beat which is good, and I think it would have been better if it were the main song throughout.
The second scene has a high energy track to start with and it’s great, but then they swap it for a softer but still light-hearted springtime style song which also works, but not as a replacement or transition from the prior. It kind of dulls the energy a bit, and it would be a bit more tolerable if the vocal parts didn’t show up. No thanks. Again, it then switches to a more EDM style track i’d expect in like Forza Horizon. Solid track, a bit too energetic though for the shot, and the transitions and camera panning just don’t mesh with the tempo. Rinse repeat for the next shoot with the schoolgirl outfit, the first and third work well enough on their own, the middle transition song is out of place. The fourth scene as well, solid start but then the music cuts for the stupid tickle toy part.
The last two scenes (not including background music during the BTS interview segment) are good enough to round out the score. The bathroom scene has a good EDM track, good tempo, bass, and timing with the shots. The second track is alright, but the transition needs to be smoother, not silence in between a key and tempo change. It happens with the shift to the low energy third track to round out the scene. This one has an air of finality to it musically. Instrumentation is more ethereal and subtle, a much slower tempo, like a somber ending credits scene. It is a good track but does not suit the energy given off by Wakana in her playful bath time suds session. The last scene, oh boy, a darker lit shoot with early 2000s NFS Underground type background beat? Yes please. However, they then dial it way down by moving to a slow late night piano solo, which again, not a bad song selection, but the tempo shift is drastic for something that started with house music. All in all, a mixed affair, solid enders and finishers, poor mid-transitions, and pacing issues with the vibe Wakana was giving off vs what the music wanted to tell.
Score: 7/10
Aesthetics & Performance
Visuals wise this is always a hard sell for debuts, often due to the outfits and settings they are placed in, alongside directors that sort of stick to a standard style for these releases. I think Wakana overall has a nice figure, as stated prior, nothing particularly special, but nothing overwhelmingly negative. I am not quite into her face visuals, but they do remind me of Rena, which may pique the interest of those looking for a younger performer with that style, although performance aside, Rena’s visuals are quite robust vs Wakana’s. I think her outfits worked overall but nothing stood out. Simple bikinis, sailor suits, and simple one-piece dress tops that weren’t particularly expressive. I think her best look was when she was covered in soap suds. I do hope to see more of her and see what they can do with her, perhaps at other gravure studios as well.
Performance wise, it’s evident she is a rookie, this is her first image video and she only debuted in the AV industry in June of this year. I haven’t seen how she performs on that end of the field, but in gravure, she did alright, she definitely has pacing and eye contact issues to work out, but I often give some credit to newcomers as modelling is a different skillset vs porn and I also have to state that directors, even those that work with new talent, may not be properly reading the room and working with the strengths of the talent on first take, so some rough shots are expected, such as Wakana looking away from the camera, making mistakes in movement, or talking (which I should say, talking is fine, but REbecca insists on muting it in favour of keeping the music track loud and prominent vs subdued background audio during talking bits). Overall, she did alright and shooting for REbecca’s mainline label, or even just REbecca in general, is not a bad start.
Score: 7/10 (Aesthetics), 7/10 (Performance)
Summary
Overall, this was an average release in terms of gravure and par for the course for REbecca rookie debuts. I don’t think it’s a must see by any means unless for subjective reasons you like Wakana’s looks, which yes, then it’s a must on those terms. If you are coming over from her IdeaPocket AV films and want to see some eye candy, then the previous comment stands and you likely are into her enough to watch any of her vids. On a video production front there were many smaller issues that grew to become big enough ones that affected the score negatively. Questionable music transitions and score selections. Camera panning and framing missing what would have been solid shots. The typical tropes and lack of creativity given to the rookie debut formula. They don’t all need to be this basic, but just like debuts in JAV and the like, I suppose there are those that are into that routine. I’m all for seeing more Wakana to see how she can perform with other studios or even in future REbecca films, and this intro wasn’t poor enough on her end to dissuade from that idea.
