Introduction
Production & Setting
Moving to the second shoot and another creative and colorful outfit. Here we have a standard room with I guess patio furniture for the couch prop. The room is stupid bright, thanks in no part to the large windows with white drapes just blowing out the scene. It doesn’t do wrong by the scene as there is enough darker elements in Kana and the foreground to help. In Kana’s case, she is wearing a white rabbit outfit and using fake lollipops, one of which is quite large and colorful. The first half of this shoot is Kana playing with the candy, and then proceeding to undress. There is even what looks to be a donut blow-up seat. Music wise, the first track is upbeat and flows well with the scene, but the second track loses out to the fact that there is whistling in the piece, that’s a no go in these types of shoots. Camera work again is well paced and focuses on good angles and tries to bring in more scale then just zooming in on a butt cheek for ten minutes.
Oh boy this third shoot. The outfit is great, very creative and still colorful in contrast to yet again, a white blown out backdrop (it must have been just obnoxiously bright and sunny on the day of filming). Kana is enthusiastic as always, interestingly posing in front of the window for some still shots while being filmed (you can see the camera flashes, which is interesting they decided to do both at once). Kana’s outfit is filled with detail, deep purples, light blues and pinks, and blacks, the outfit is like a gothic take on early 1900s cabaret fashion. The rest of the shoot is standard fair, with a brown chair used as one of the primary props, which does help amplify the colors of Kana’s outfit. There is not much undressing in this shoot, likely to accentuate the cabaret dancer image.
The bathtub shoot is here, and it is great. The music is colorful, Kana is wearing a nice blue sheer dress flanked by some a backdrop with a smooth brown-green wood color palette, and the camera work is good. Focusing on the parts where the showerhead is spraying, and Kana’s facial expressions is a welcome touch from an aesthetic point. The next portion is nice, bubbles on Kana’s butt will always be appreciated, and the music is at a nice tempo with the guitar track, however, the presence of the whistle just needs to be dropped, it ruins the vibe, and it unfortunately comes at a time where the music has begun to slow down. Bathtub shoots often tend to be one of two types, a slow soapy massage or a playful one, and with Kana’s personality, the playful would have been the better way to go for the duration of the shoot. Overall, however, it was well done. Even the short masturbation bit at the end.
This is where the film starts going downhill. Up to this point the shoots were largely well done, despite Kana almost never going bottomless, at least not in a way the viewer could see anything. However, as this is Aircontrol, the simulated sex parts are next. So, the reviews will be quick. The first sex shoot sees an oiled-up Kana playing with herself in a room that is quite dynamic in colors, from the yellowish wall to the deep purple seat cover Kana is sprawled over. There is no music as expected, and Kana’s fake sex sounds are nothing special. There are some lame positions taken that I assume imply she is riding someone, but her panties are still on so, yeah, but Kana does look nice throughout. The next sex shoot sees Kana playing with herself once more but in the backseat of a car.
Her outfit looks nice, and her underwear is colorful. There are some shots of her playing with a glowstick which would have been a cool prop had the scene been darker and had the sex not been a thing. The final shoot takes place in another colorful room, soft pastel-colored fittings for the bed, the wall is a nice shade of beige and the natural lighting compliments the color gradients well. In this scene Kana starts by doing some popsicle food play and it looks nice, and the music is energetic and upbeat. However, this is also the shoot with the one of the most egregious examples of mosaic censorship I’ve seen in an IV, with some baffling implementations. Examples of this will be shown later in the review. Getting back to the scene, as Kana continues to undress, the great space like synth track from the first shoot returns, and this honestly seems like it will be a nice send-off scene for the film, but nah, cut the music, fake sex is here to show you out.
Music
Given that this is an Aircontrol film, half of the runtime has basically no music, due to those scenes being used for simulated sex shoots. This is unfortunate but expected of the studio. For the scenes with music, there are some good choices, and some questionable. Moving to the first scene (because that jpop upbeat opening is in a different league), the first track is of a slower tempo with a prominent guitar solo. The pacing works with the action on screen; however, this is one of the more annoying looping pieces I’ve heard in a while. The shift to a light synth track is a welcome shift. The tempo appears even slower due to the instrumentals, but it works well with Kana’s pace as this is the undressing portion of the first shoot. This piece reminds me of late 2000s indie synth and the almost space like feel is great. This track does see a return later in the video, and it works, despite being a little lame that it was copy pasted.
The third track is another synth heavy track with some more bass and guitar lines to flesh it out. Pacing is still good, until the song shifts to a guitar solo with some brassy notes. The song is faster, very jazzy, and at different parts of the scene with Kana’s expressions it works, but it loses much of its momentum with the addition of a whistling bit, which really doesn’t suit the scene. It was salvaged later with a swap to a flute solo, but the whistling was jarring to say the least. From here we travel back in time to early 2000s western pop/R&B with the offbeat mix of synths, percussion, and actual vocals. The scene itself was great, but any music with vocals is an immediate failure, they never work. The scene is saved by a non-vocal synth percussion track that is a little too moody and dynamic for the bright and colorful scene, but it’s better than what preceded.
Next up is the bathtub shoot and the music reminds me of an intro scene of some comedy movie with the credits and such. It has a nice pace, the piano, and bass work well with the scene of Kana spraying herself. The music does shift to a string heavy track during the soapy portion of the shoot. More percussion, more string, jazzy in some respects. It works, until the stupid whistling shows up, and that kills the rest of the track. For the next two scenes there is no music as it is sex stuff. The music returns with a synth track that has an interesting fade effect added for some of the lighter or more obscure notes used. It somewhat misses the mark as the pacing is off given that Kana is eating a popsicle during this almost mystical synthwave. During the almost nude food play portion, there is a shift to a light upbeat guitar percussion track for a moment before the synth track from the first shoot makes a return. The percussion track used here is good, it works with the speed and the visuals. It’s like watching a 1950’s tv commercial about ice cream but the ice cream is running down the chest of an attractive lady.
Score: 7/10
Aesthetics & Performance
Visually the film is good, fidelity is high, color is on point, and the styling of Kana’s outfits were great. The sex scenes while poor in their purpose, were well done visually and Kana looked great, especially during the second sex scene of her in the backseat of a car. The use of the light stick in a dark environment added a nice bit of detail. Kana’s first and third outfits were the most visually stimulating and creative. From the bright pink and blue pastels of the first to the gothic/cabaret combination outfit in the third. The outfits were on point and didn’t detract or conflict with the backdrop visuals or Kana herself. Of course, Kana looked great just as herself, with a variety of hairstyle visuals to work with the varied sets, unfortunately, Kana rarely goes full nude, and there are next to no up-close shots of her undercarriage, even if mosaic were to cover most of it.
Kana is enthusiastic and plays her part well, especially with that opening, that was a creative and energetic opening as it was and Kana sold it, although it would have been even better if there were vocals but perhaps licensing was an issue. Throughout the film Kana did a good job of being into each shoot, never really dropping the ball, even if the sex scenes are awkward (honestly, it’s easier to pose and make faces while nude than faking sex, it just looks so unnatural). If half of the film was not dedicated to fake sex and instead were used for more posing shoots, that would have been great, but that is not the Aircontrol way. The opening bit saves Kana somewhat on this front score wise.
Bonus: As is often commonplace in Aircontrol releases, censorship in the form of blurry mosaic is used among their releases, and while this is not unheard of within the Gravure field, as sometimes you need to do a certain pose and can’t use camera trickery to hide parts that are banned, Aircontrol’s usage across this film is poorly implemented. Blurring the crotch when there is already clothing covering those bits but only doing it for some parts of some scenes is just terrible implementation of an already terrible practice. As an example, the below screenshots show the last scene.
Score: 8/10 (Aesthetics), 7.5/10 (Performance)
Summary
This is one of the better offerings from Aircontrol. Kana is cute, enthusiastic, and certainly energetic given how this film introduced itself. Production from a visual standpoint was good, however, it loses huge points for devoting half of the movie to simulated sex scenes, some of which used sets that would have been visually great had they been for regular Gravure modelling instead. The other big negative of this film was the censorship. Censorship is normal among many producers but the fat fingered method of implementation in this film is borderline criminal, with no real idea of where or why it’s going to show up. If not for the quality presentation of scenes and the introduction being fun and different, this censorship and fake sex would have cratered this movie score wise. As for an IV in general, this is worth a watch, mostly, skip the latter half unless you like fake sex where the panties are still visible in a POV doggy position scene.
