Introduction

Back with another Virgin Nude series film from REbecca. For those that are unaware of what this series entails, essentially it is meant to feature models that are new to the world of nude Gravure (or Gravure in general). The featured actress of this film is Koko Hanaya, a model that based on my research has done no prior work in Gravure, at least nothing the internet would like to share. With that short introduction let’s see how Koko fares in her first Gravure and first nude shoot.

Production & Setting

Starting us off we have Koko’s first shoot outside. Visually the quality is good in terms of color grading. There is enough of a mixture of greys, whites, and brownish-green to add some depth to the backdrop, although the skybox is heavily blown out. In addition, the camera work is far too shaky. Koko has a great outfit on, visually dynamic in its design and works with the setting. The music is a slower tempo piano ensemble for the most part and it does well to at least capture a bit of an exciting mysterious vibe, which works with the over-arching idea that this is Koko’s first nude appearance. Koko herself looks good although she doesn’t really do all that much interacting with herself or the camera, understandable given her experience, it would have been nice to see some more direction given to flesh out some personality qualities vs just visual eye candy. The scene goes about placing Koko in a variety of poses and areas to show off different angles as she undresses. Before long the shoot is over, and we are indoors.

The next shoot is a basic one, featuring a brown couch that looks like its fabric pattern belongs in the 1980s. The room itself is far to noisy with white everywhere, and giving Koko a white dress was done as a means of singling her out from the bright red door and the couch when she is laying on it, but the whole room just gives off a hue that is far too white. The music is a much slower piano piece that is very somber in its notes and is a track I’ve heard in other Gravure productions. Koko isn’t much more expressive here but I do think at certain angles the lighting and camera work is doing her some more justice, although you can see evidence of her not quite knowing what to do as she glances off to take a cue from the camera guy (or whoever).
Moving on to the standard fare bathtub/bathing scene and we start off with Koko showering in a see-through outfit before getting submerged and then later posing for some soapy scrubbing action. The music is once again on the lighter side of things, a soft piano piece, it works, nothing flashy, nothing out of place for a casual showering girl scene. Koko appears to show some excitement here and there but it’s hard to know if that’s just her default expression in some instances. Camera work is better, working to show off her assets in the water and the setting is a nice one with some great natural lighting shimmering off some very clear water as it runs down Koko’s breasts. Koko moves position to one where she is like moving her butt in and out of the water and the camera is focused right on her butthole region. I would have preferred this was shot without the bikini bottom as censors wouldn’t be needed for this part (at least based on previous examples), and it is nice to see the added detail of these areas.

The last scenes before the simulated sex finale aren’t anything particularly amazing. The first features Koko wearing a nice outfit with a colorful bra top and purple dress, but it isn’t long before this clothing is removed. Music is very quiet to start but it begins to fill out as the scene progresses during the undressing portions. Some odd percussion beats are tossed in that are quite energetic in their nature, however, Koko’s movements and persona don’t really match, and neither does a drab and boring bedroom set. The next scene is in another bedroom, this time using a leather chair and mostly a yellowish artificial light to create a dimmer and more intimate color palette. This is all used to set the tone for a toy play blowjob scene that is not great to say the least. The scene ends with a small snippet of music before moving into the final shoot where we get a bit more dramatic music, natural lighting amidst a very white bedroom, and then toss it out the window because the sex scene is really bad, not to mention it’s almost 100% noticeable that the camera guy is just moving her legs back and forth.

Score: 5/10 (Production), 5/10 (Setting)

Music

The music is present throughout most of the film, which is good, although there is a disconnect between the musical styles and what is seen on screen. The tracks all generally follow a slower tempo save for the last track that is energetic before being unceremoniously cut-off in favor of sex time. The problem is that everything appears so uninspired and lacking enthusiasm, the music isn’t dynamic and is far too repetitious, however, there is little the music can do when the film production is dropping the ball.

Going into the music itself, the first track does work with the setting as it is introducing the audience to a new model and having a more carefree slower beat does well. The keyboard synths and piano notes do a good job at painting this image of curiosity. The second track is overused and annoying, moving on. The third track suits the shower setting, but then is replaced with an odd synth piece that I don’t think works, and then finally transitions again to a good track during the soap session, although the mood seems to give off the vibe of a slow dance romance scene from some college student drama. Again, the problem with the music is that the scenes don’t match well enough, so this is a miss on both parts, the visual and the audio don’t quite line up. The remaining tracks go through a similar stylistic change of beginning slow and calm and then adding acoustic complexity to heighten the impact of the scene, but it just falls on deaf ears due to what’s complimenting it visually.

Score: 6/10

Aesthetics & Performance

Koko has a unique look in comparison to other Gravure models I have reviewed in the past and in comparison, to the typical models you see for the big labels. That said, except for her first outfit the rest of her attire was uninspired in visual complexity and there wasn’t a lot of work done to bring out her qualities in a positive or lively way. Her bathtub scene stands out as probably the best as they did focus more on her breasts, and the aforementioned removal of her underwear likely would have served to add a bit more depth and character to her appearance, but I understand why removing that article and having that unshaven portion front and center in a camera lens could be uncomfortable.

Koko is a newcomer to this type of content and as such won’t know to a great degree how to act, how to pose, and how to interact with the camera. This is the responsibility of the crew putting together the film. Unfortunately, the ball was dropped in most respects in this film. Koko certainly appeared to try and convey certain ideas and for that I will give some credit, especially when it comes to the toy play and sex scenes. Those portions of Gravure films are bad in general but, in this case, it is one of the few times Koko displays something beyond a straight face or confusion. She tried and that’s worth something at least.

Score: 5/10 (Aesthetics), 6/10 (Performance)

Summary

It’s unfortunate when you see debuts such as these where the finished product ended up being subpar. Not everyone is cut out for modelling, and even less so nude. However, in the case of this film, while Koko certainly displayed substantial proof of being a greenhorn regarding how this genre works, the production effort and the direction from the crew was disappointing. That is not to say that even had this film been a perfect ten that Koko would continue in the industry, we don’t know her motivations, nor do we know if she is just incapable of performing what the camera demanded. Nevertheless, the finished product was below average, even when taking into consideration that it is a series aimed at debuting fresh faces into the industry. Unless you are into the body type and visual characteristics of Koko, I would skip this as it just doesn’t stand up as being a good Gravure release, nude or otherwise.

Score: 5.4/10
