Introduction

GAOR-121 is listed as the final release for now defunct Gravure producer Garden. This label ran until mid-2017 and then closed shop, ending what was a somewhat unique blend of JAV and IV. Garden releases are basically girlfriend experience videos in gravure format, there is sex, simulated or with a dildo, shot in POV style and consists of the couple in the film going about their day, travelling around a city and then getting into a scenario where they have sex, whether that be a morning session or a spur of the moment bath time quickie. For those familiar with JAV, this will seem very similar to Audaz Japan’s Iyarashi or Comfort series from 2015 and prior, but without the explicit sex that requires a real penis.

So, this is the final release and it involves Aya Sazanami, an actress that has performed in JAV since 2016 and is by no means an amateur even by this point in her career. Her performance in any form of sex based POV film should be at minimum good, at worst it would be fine. Let’s see how she did and how this type of film works within the IV field.

Production & Setting

The content hinges heavily on interaction between Aya and the viewer, which is standard POV fare, but given that the focus is on the actress being your girlfriend, there is quite a bit of talking, so if you don’t know Japanese, the scenes may be lost in translation, then again if you watch JAV then you are no stranger possibly to not knowing the words. Anyways, so the film basically goes from waking up in bed with Aya at the start, having some morning sex, going for a stroll outside, then back inside for some outfit changes and sex in the bathroom, and then dinner and sex after. Visually the scenes are well done lighting and fidelity wise, but the backdrops are boring aesthetically, more suitable for a porn shoot than gravure. The fake penis looks pretty out of place, I think due to the color and its a little too rigid, even when compared to other POV dildo styled films in other genres, also, there is no fake cum, which is a letdown given the POV sex focus. At least spray Aya with something.

Visually the scenes are bright and colorful, either due to the outfits or from the natural lighting that can be seen filling the rooms, with the exception of the muted palette in the bathroom, but Aya’s bathing suit helps make it pop a little. The outside part is the most colorful and well-done portion in this regard, but its not the focus and it disappears fairly quickly in order to setup for the next sex scene. Unfortunately despite these production pros, the cons are that the plot is generally uninspired, not that IVs generally have plot, but it just makes for a rather average viewing experience unless you are specifically going in to watch an actress you like have sex with a toy penis. The girlfriend aspect has been done by JAV studios and to greater affect at least in terms of the sex, visually however, the quality is still pretty good with Garden releases.
